Progress and mother's day

Well here I sit 9 1/2 months pregnant and finally some physical progress. We saw the doctor this morning everything is going well. Got a few of my questions answered including how on earth to get a hold of someone if something happens or I think I'm in labor. After seeing her last week I had something happen and tried to call but I never got an call back from the nurse! Thankfully it wasn't a big deal but still frustrating. Anyway, my other questions were also answered and I am feeling good. I won't give specific deals of my progress for obvious reasons but if you would like to know you can ask me.

 

Another Big step this week, Zoey's room is finished!!!! We finally got the big leaf on the wall and the flower and bug lights hung! I have washed her clothes and packed two outfits for the hospital. All that's left is to bring her home in one of them. Given the fact that I was a big baby and Wyatt was decent as well we are prepared for either situation. Of course I don't think she will be quite as big as I was given the fact that they won't let me go as long as mom had to before they induce. Let's hope she won't be late though because that is still another week to wait. (I can't believe it only 2 weeks!!!!)

 Now I know I said it was done and yet there are still picture frames sitting there but they don't have her picture in them! It will be hung as soon as we do but until then it will simply have to lean against the wall. Pictures are really hard to take in her room because it is so small but I think these do a pretty good job of showing most of it.

New subject! Mother's day. I hope all of you mom's out there had a great day! I received mixed views from people around here as to whether or not this was my first Mother's day or if next year would be the first but those comments were from men who, no offense, don't have a clue what's it like to carry a baby for nine months. No matter what other's said Wyatt still got me a gift, a Lasagna Lover's baking dish from Rachael Ray!! Very excited but now I need to think of something to bake. I can't make lasagna because already made it last week and froze one for after the baby comes. Oh well I'll figure out something. But I was not the only mom around here that needed to celebrate. We felt the need to do something for our neighbor who has done so much for us. We got her a plant that I am a little jealous of, but since it sits on her back porch I get to see it all the time, and coffee for her Keurig coffee maker because she drinks 5 cups a night (not joking!) She was very excited for both so I felt like we had done something to show her our appriciation.

To wrap up I have been looking at picture ideas for newborn photos to take of little Zoey and I think I have a few good ideas but since it is rather expensive to get a photographer I am going ot try and take them myself. I have been practicing with lighting and a free program to touch up the pictures but I really wish Jesse and his camera/skills would be here. He would get much better results. That means you had better be ready to take some pictures with that thing when I get home!!!!!

Hello again!
Let's see what to say what to say. Obviously in the world/USA news there has been a lot to talk about. Bin Laden's dead, release the information or not, release the photos or not. It has been interesting around here since this is a rather major hub for most of these types of conversations. The most interesting conversation however is, "How does this apply to Wyatt and the Marines?" Well in all honesty it doesn't change anything other than the fact that now someone or a group of someones will want revenge. You would think that Marine's would be happy about the development but actually it just makes a lot of them mad. This is due to the fact that many of the Force Recon guys we know have know of Osama's location for a while but were never aloud to take action because "we" were watching him for leads of another attack. Now whether or not this is exactly true or not I do believe that this was more a political strategy than a military strategy. Think about it Obama is getting ready for an election year and what a better way to prepare. Either way he will probably be back in office and Wyatt will still have to go over seas at some point. I will say that I agree with the decision to NOT release photos. From the reports I have heard coming from base that is not something the public needs to see no matter how they feel and definitely not something parents should have to worry about the kids seeing.

Now then, what else happened this week? I will admit I don't like not being able to call up my mommy and daddy this week and next because they are on some crazy world tour or something! ;-) Really though after seeing the doctor on Wednesday it would have been nice to call mommy dearest. That being said I will give a quick update. I am still growing ever larger thanks to watermelon in my tummy. No really that is what the online guide told, I don't think they have seen the size of an Oklahoma watermelon because if she really is that size forget laboring! In reality though the doctor said that her head is Very low but currently no other physical changes to say I should be expecting her in the next hour or so. I return to the office on Thursday and we shall see how we look then.

I think I already mentioned the totally awesome bumpers and curtains that my totally awesome mom made but if I didn't they are totally awesome! I also believe that I mentioned the issue of not being able to attach the middle of the bumpers to the bed. Well that has been fixed! Thanks to my fabulous neighbor I was able to shorten a few of the bumpers and sew them together to make two long pieces and two short pieces. I hated to do it since mom worked so hard but I kept it so that it can easily be return to it's original state if needed. Mom I hope I did you proud and thanks for helping me with the sewing machine issued from across the country! Don't worry I have attached pictures to prove it all. Below are the flowers we will add to the straps later when mom comes up here.Which is coming up soon!!!

I promise to finish her room this weekend and get true pictures up so that everyone can see.

Speaking of pictures. I think I am going to try and take some Anne Geddes like photos of Lil miss Zoey after she arrives. One of Wyatt's friend's wife takes pictures but I'm not sure she has done that before so if anyone has any cute picture ideas let me know. Latasha said that those pictures have to be taken in the first twp weeks to make sure the baby is limber and will sleep well. it makes sense but that doesn't give anyone much time to get it set up on the fly. The one picture I think I will try is to put her in Wyatt's helmet, if she will fit with some other kind of prop any other ideas?

One final thing before I pass out from this exhausting task of typing. I had my most rewarding single use of coupons today! I was able to get two boxes of Fiber plus Eggos for $.25 a piece!!! Yes, you read that right two boxes of name brand Eggos for .$50 total!!!!! That's the kind of savings I want to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
